1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Rise SMS application and web platform ("Service"), operated by Research Institute for Society and Education ("RISE", "we", "our", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users, including school administrators, teachers, employees, parents, guardians, and students.
2. Description of Service
Rise SMS is a school management platform that provides:
- Student enrollment and academic record management
- Attendance tracking (including QR-based and biometric)
- Exam and grade management
- Fee collection and financial reporting
- Timetable scheduling
- Push notification communication between schools, teachers, and parents
- Report generation (marksheets, attendance reports, fee reports)
- Offline data access for essential school information
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
User accounts are created by authorized school administrators. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
3.2 Account Security
- You must change your password upon first login if prompted.
- You must not share your login credentials with any other person.
- You must notify your school administrator immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint) is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time.
3.3 Account Termination
School administrators may deactivate your account when you are no longer associated with the school. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of school management. You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Modify, tamper with, or falsify attendance records, exam marks, or fee records
- Use location spoofing or any means to circumvent attendance verification
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the application
- Use the Service to harass, bully, or send inappropriate communications
- Share confidential student or staff information outside the Service
5. Data and Content
5.1 School Data
All academic data (student records, attendance, exam results, fees) entered into the Service belongs to the respective school. Schools are responsible for the accuracy of data entered by their administrators and staff.
5.2 User-Generated Content
Users may upload profile photos, announcements, and diary entries. You represent that you have the right to upload any content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
5.3 Data Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. Push Notifications
The Service sends push notifications for attendance updates, fee reminders, exam results, announcements, and other school-related communications. You can manage notification preferences through your device settings. Disabling notifications may affect your ability to receive timely updates.
7. Offline Functionality
The Service provides limited offline access to previously synced data. Offline data is stored locally on your device and is subject to your device's storage limitations. Data entered offline will be synchronized when an internet connection is restored.
8. Intellectual Property
The Rise SMS application, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Research Institute for Society and Education. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
9. Disclaimers
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
- We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, network issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
- Academic decisions (grades, promotions, admissions) remain the sole responsibility of the school.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RISE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or interruption of service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RISE, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes through in-app notifications or email.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pakistan.
